“In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.”
I was tasked with creating a short “stinger” video as well as speaker introduction video for each presenter at the event.
Given an extremely short turnaround on this project I was really happy with I was able to pull together.
The client was very pleased:
”These are fantastic. Love love love. This is me gushing!
The TEDxBrisbane Stinger is so good - I wanted to cry. New flourishing with a vital nod to the old - masterful!
These are hands down the most stylish, beautiful and professional speaker intro slides we have ever had! Thank you!”
Zango is shaking up the property market with a locally owned and run platform that delivers hot new listings with better value.
When the brief came in for this project I knew it would be too complicated to tackle using 2D animation, so I used 3D assets with flat shading techniques instead, to give this a 2D look to match the existing brand assets.
Keeping everything looking very Canberra was a fun challenge, each asset had to be carefully made to match the city’s unique look.
71C is a premium development of upscale apartments in the heart of Canberra.
Using a mixture of live-action footage and CGI I was able to bring the quality and history of this building to life.
Initially I was concerned that it would be a challenge to make it look as though John was really a part of the CG environments. To combat this I made sure to have moments where he would “interact” with the space with a look or a motion. As well as picking camera angles that would suit, and take advantage of, the large CG spaces that he would be walking around in.
Telehealth broadly describes the use of information and communications technology to deliver health services over both long and short distances.
I was tasked with creating an animated video that gave a brief overview of the history of Telehealth in Australia.
Using a unique blend of 2D and 3D animation styles I tried to invoke a feeling of storytelling and rich history.
The client was thrilled with the end result.
Carols in Town Park is a community celebration of Christmas presented by The Salvation Army every December. It attracts huge crowds, bringing thousands people together to sing Christmas carols.
Unfortunately, Christmas in Australia is a very hot and dry affair and I wanted to bring a true Christmas feel to this video. By using model Christmas village sets, loads of fake snow and a decent amount of VFX trickery I was able to create the Christmas mood I always wanted this event to convey.
To top it all off it absolutely needed a British Santa voice over with Dr Seussian rhyme.
I couldn’t be happier with how the final product turned out.
It’s easy to forget that Glucojel jelly beans were first released in 1941. They’ve become such a staple in every Australian pharmacy and chemist.
I loved creating these little vignette animations; trying to envision what kind of world these jellybeans might inhabit.
I was responsible for just the animated sections of these videos, but working with another agency to fit these within the whole edit was a fun challenge.
I created all aspects of the animations including modelling, rigging, lighting and animation.
Product pictures on Instagram can only show so much. And until you try one for yourself, there’s no real way to experience exactly how drink sticks make you feel.
...Or is there?
These social videos let people FEEL the benefits of Freshcap drink sticks before they even try them — this series of “oddly satisfying” renders that abstractly capture the unique benefits of each different mushroom elixir.
Working with rough concepts provided by the client I brought these animations to life using Cinema4D and rendered with Redshift.
AKIBA is a funky restaurant that evokes the neon lights and amazing food of Akihabara, Japan.
I made this TVC by mixing 2D and 3D elements to create an electric mix of animation and Japanese style.
The client loved it.
I had so much fun creating these jelly bean characters for Glucojel’s new website.
I handled all aspects of their creation including: concepting, sculpting, rigging and animating.
Check out all 9 characters on the Glucojel website:

Trains! Oh what a way to get from A to B,
But how to stay safe, well just watch and see.
And you'll see over the hill hides a town called TracksVille,
Where they rather like trains, and rail mishaps are nill...
The final two-minute animation was played in cinemas around NSW during Rail Safety Week, as well as being pushed out through TrackSAFE’s social networks, ultimately educating and entertaining over 150,000 people
I was responsible for modelling, animation, music, SFX and compositing. I also helped with concept development, storyboarding and animatics.
A vibrant community that’s bringing wonder to Weston.
Using Cinema4D’s powerful mograph tools I was able to construct various plant rigs that I could animate ‘growing’ quickly on-screen.
Mixing these animations with a small amount of stock footage I was able to bring this website background video to life.

We're living in the future.
I was responsible for creating all the VFX and motion-graphics in this TVC, including being on set to direct the VFX-heavy shots.
ActewAGL needed a fun, engaging, character-driven animations to help show off some easy tips and tricks to help you save energy in winter and summer.
They loved the quirky art-style and simple characters.
I was responsible for all art, animation, SFX and final edits.
Lifeline Canberra is a leading charity in the ACT, it exists to support people in crisis and save the lives of those experiencing thoughts of suicide. They hold a bookfair every few months to raise funds and awareness.
I wanted to try pushing the realism for this animation instead of doing a stylised art-style. This ended up being extremely render-intensive so to cut down on render times I rendered the final frames at half-resolution and used special AI-driven software to “upscale” the render images without any loss of detail or quality.
Sometimes even Santa needs a little help getting his Christmas tree up.
Using existing art assets I created all the animation for this fun little video for tv and social media.
Asian-fusion taken to a whole new level.
What happens when you mix anime tropes and 8-bit graphics into a live-action shoot? A smash hot promo video for a funky hipster restaurant.
It was really great to see this video blow up on Instagram and YouTube.
I was responsible for the edit and VFX in this video as well as directing on set.
DKSN is the hot new inner-city precinct. Full of style, energy and asian flavours.
My task was to take standard 3D render imagery and turn it into a trip-hop fever dream designed to grab young people’s attention and interest while still portraying the unique DKSN brand.
The client was blown away by the new style and energy of the video.
They brought me on again a few months later to deliver a video for the stage 2 release. The client was confident enough this time to let me direct the creation of the arch-viz renders to use in the video.
I created and animated all the VFX elements for this informational video for Seeingmachines. This included background removal of existing footage, inserting 3d elements into the footage and a few fully CG sequences. When creating the visual elements I had to keep in mind the existing branding style of Seeingmachines and the Guardian product to make sure the video stayed visually consistent.
I worked closely with the creative director to visualise this concept and create floating 3D world filled with diamonds. Getting the ring to look photorealistic was extremely important to the client so I put a special focus on getting that to look right. Getting the video footage to refract nicely inside the diamonds was initally quite difficult, I solved this by using multiple render passes and matte layers.
ActewAGL needed an attention-grabbing TVC for their new 'price-promise' policy.
Originally this was pitched as a 2D animation, but I had been testing a 3D concept I had come up with. I showed the creative director the 3D version that I had developed and they and the client loved the 3D look so much we switched straight over.
I was responsible for creating all aspects of this TVC including modelling, animation and story boarding.
